Two hours of scrolling, and the thing still isn't done

You're staring at the screen. You know you should move. But your body feels like lead, and two voices are shouting in your head — one says "wait a little longer," the other says "it's already too late." They argue until the morning is gone.

Stop overthinking it. Just put your shoes on and walk out the door. Running or not doesn't matter. Open the laptop. Don't write it perfectly — just write. Overcoming procrastination never waits for you to feel ready, because ready is a myth.

Doing it badly is fine. Doing it halfway is fine. At least you moved. Those people you envy — the ones who "just do things" — they're not fearless. They just started walking while still afraid.

If you're sitting there right now with something you want to do but haven't started, say these five things to yourself:

  • The alarm went off three times. On the third, I sat up.
  • Shoes on, door open — the rest is up to my feet.
  • I'll write one line first. The rest can grow on its own.
  • It's messy, but at least I moved.
  • Laptop open. Whatever I do today is enough.

You don't need to wait for the right moment. Go claim an affirmation to push you forward. Let it be the nudge.
